Short history 2016 - 2018

HFE Elika

08.08.2016 - My arrival into the world (3.6 kg). A small and beautiful girl. And from this moment, my adventure begins immediately. I couldn't tolerate mother's milk due to lactose intolerance, and I didn't have enough strength to do so. My condition worsened even further after vaccinations (which led me to be listed as an exception due to side effects).

11.08.2016 - The first six months were very difficult for me. After a heart ultrasound, it was revealed that I had an ASD (Atrial Septal Defect). Feeding was challenging because my parents couldn't find the right formula; even lactose-free options didn't always work. I would frequently vomit everything, even during the night. I visited doctors often, and I was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit even more frequently (consistently once a month for a week). I'm grateful that my beloved parents never gave up.

2.02.2017 - The day of my heart surgery under anesthesia. Everything went successfully. However, unfortunately, my body was very weak, and after two weeks, the doctors performed another surgery on my chest under anesthesia. And after these two surgeries, as a child, I would start to look very different... not to mention the larger scar on my chest. I am sincerely grateful to the doctors for performing the surgery free of charge. Such surgeries are provided for free to children under 18 years old in our country.

01.03.2017 - Finally, I'm home. I cried very often and ate very little. My parents tried various methods of feeding me, such as natural dairy products, formulas, and many others, but unfortunately, I started experiencing brain epilepsy. With each epileptic episode, I fell further behind in development. I started taking more medications for the heart and anti-epileptic sedatives. I was like a vegetable, sitting still and not doing anything.

03/03/2017 - for 18 months I had about 6 cardiologists plus 20 different specialists and many different doctors. I had at least five more complicated epilepsies. I was often in intensive care. According to the legislation of the country where I live, my parents issued me a disability (about $ 70 per month). My parents always took turns on duty at my hospital at home.

18.09.2018 - The birth of my brother and companion. I was overjoyed that I had a little brother.
